We've Got The Answers
to your questions.

(Well, not all of them. We can’t figure out #4 on that ECON final either.)

What is Alight?

It’s a high-quality Stillwater apartment community designed especially with Oklahoma State University students in mind. Alight features a variety of spacious, furnished apartments plus a full set of community features such as a luxurious clubhouse, fitness center, sports courts, pool and hot tub and more. All just minutes from the OSU campus.

Is Alight part of Oklahoma State University?

Alight is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management and ownership.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Alight has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Alight pays a flat rate that includes:

  • A full set of furniture
  • High-speed Wi-Fi Internet
  • Water/sewer, trash removal
  • Washer and dryer in each apartment
  • Community features — pool, fitness center, sports courts, etc.
What size are the apartments?

The spacious accommodations at Alight range from one-bedroom apartments to three-story townhomes with four bedrooms and four baths.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, all homes at Alight include a furniture package including a full-size bed, desk and chair in each bedroom, and a sofa and lounge chair, and coffee table in each living room. Plus, all apartments also include a dining table and chairs, or counter stools. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model apartments.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 12, 2024 to July 21, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates may be available; please inquire with our staff. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Alight also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Alight?

Your living costs at Alight can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Alight. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Alight open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Alight are students at Oklahoma State University and Langston University and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Residents/families with children are welcome. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. Alight is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Alight has monitored fire sprinklers, electronic locks and deadbolts on each front door, plus individually locking bedroom doors. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

The community is smoke-free in all indoor and adjacent areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of apartment-mates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests. Alight is pet-friendly in select apartments.

Can I park my vehicle at Alight?

Alight offers free surface parking for all residents. Limited guest parking is also available at no charge.

What other transportation options will I have?

Alight is served by the OSU Transit “white route” every half hour from 6:30am to 7pm, Monday through Friday during Fall and Spring semesters, and the “gray route” during semester breaks. Ride to campus in as little as 7 minutes. There’s also nearby “green route” service from 7-10pm. Or walk or bike to campus, just one mile down Hall of Fame Avenue.

Can I see a model apartment?

Yes. Please request an appointment for a personal tour, or just stop by to see us and we’ll be happy to show you the community.
